Car culture is one which suffers from the few ruining it for the many. The takeover scene and badly organised car meets have shed a bad light on the UK's car culture. The focus for this project is to highlight the side of the car culture scene which is more true to its roots. A culture based on the appreciation of the machine, as a moving form of self expression.

Hello my name is Aiden. I am a mechanic at a Mercedes Specialist in Guildford. I own a Toyota Yaris T Sport. I enjoy cruising with my friends and ragging it down country lanes, especially in the summer, as well as upgrading and adding mods to my car.
Me and 2 other of my friends, Rheo and Jobe have identical silver Yaris T Sports. We often go out for drives together and do random side quests as well as help each other repair and fix anything that goes wrong. Car Culture for me is about having free will and being able to drive where you want to when you want to, with good friends. As well as being able to work on your own car and make it unique to you.

Hi, My name is Beny. I work as a Landscaper for my own company and as a contractor. In my free time I BMX, hike and climb with my friends. I own a MK2 Golf GTI which I enjoy cruising through the Surrey hills, especially during the summer months.
I have a group of friends in Farnham who I often meet with to go to the skatepark, or random side quests. As a group we like to help out with fixing and restoring each other's cars. For example Jake and Paul's Peugeot 306s. Car culture for me is bigger than just the cars, it's a shared passion which reaches beyond cars to skateboarding/BMX and other hobbies. The freedom of movement given by cars allows us to do all these other activities. As a result the cars become integral to our community, acting as a form of self expression as well as bringing us together over a communal appreciation for engineering and design.
Hello, I'm Skye. I'm currently a student midwife, but enjoy climbing and hiking in my free time. I own a CBR500R which I love to ride, especially in the summer period on the country lanes! Or just to chill whilst listening to music.
I have a group of friends in Coventry who I often meet up for rides and end up doing random activities together which is always fun especially after a busy day working/ studying. They are always there to help if needed, such as to fix up each other's bikes. Bike/ car culture for me is knowing down to earth people. People with a shared interest, and ready to DIY mods as we are all on a budget.
My Name is Peter Lavers, Im a business consultant, but also a classic car journalist. I used to work at the Rolls-Royce and Bentley factory, and also run the staff reunion group. I drive a 1972 Bentley T Series and a 1971 MGB. Classic cars offer fantastic enjoyment. They are analogue and provide so much connection with the road and the car. I also believe that classics are the greenest form of transport. Both of mine will go on for another 50 years and will never need to be scrapped, recycled or replaced
